SUNBIRD SPONSORS TRAVEL AGENTS ASSOCIATION OF MALAWI AGM

Sunbird Hotels & Resorts, Malawi’s leading hotel chain sponsored the Travel Agent Association of Malawi (TAAM) AGM which will take place Sunbird Nkopola from the 4^th to the 5^th of August, 2023 at a tune of K2.5 million. The leading hotel chain decided to sponsor TAAM recognizing its contribution to the hospitality sector as a key partner.

Speaking at the symbolic cheque presentation ceremony, Temwa Kanjadza Head of Sales, Marketing & Distribution said, “As Sunbird Hotels & Resorts, we are proud to support TAAM because of the crucial role they play in the hospitality industry. TAAM is a key partner in the sector and is central to driving the much needed tourist arrivals in the country. TAAM’s contribution to the Tourism sector remains significant in providing the necessary connectivity to Malawi through Airlines as well as accommodation reservations, hence ensuring the ease of access for Malawi as a tourist destination”. She further added “Sunbird‘s sponsorship is a recognition of TAAM’s role as a partner in increasing footfall at our hotels and resorts”.

Maureen Zimba, representing TAAM in acceptance of the sponsorship said ‘‘TAAM hosts these meetings every year. This is the first one since 2019 due to COVID pandemic but with a bang. We thought of engaging our partners in the Industry and Sunbird decided to support us with K2.5 million partnership. TAAM is grateful for this partnership and looks forward to a great journey as partners in the tourism sector. The theme of the conference is " Surviving turbulent times & rebuilding successfully".
