SUNBIRD IN A K15 MILLION SUPPORT FOR CYCLONE FREDDY VICTIMS

Sunbird Hotels & Resorts, Malawi’s leading hotel chain has donated K15 million worth of food and non-food supplies to the Cyclone Freddy victims through the Malawi Redcross Society.
Sunbird’s support includes various food and non-food items items such as; maize flour, rice, sugar, cooking oil, rice, beans, salt, tea, and soya pieces as well as beddings and buckets targeting displaced children and families due to the devastating impact of Cyclone Freddy that has left families in need of food and other relief items. The donation has been channeled through Malawi Redcross society, which will in turn distribute the items to the various camps across the southern region. Sunbird’s Head of Sales, Marketing & Distribution Temwa Kanjadza commented, “With great sympathies to the communities impacted with the devastating effects of cyclone Freddy, we join hands with various stakeholders that are doing everything possible to alleviate the impact of the devastation. Sunbird Tourism plc being is always committed to supporting (our) communities impacted by various disasters in order to help alleviate the devastating impact that result from such calamities.”
