Sunbird Livingstonia to unveil new rooms

Sunbird Hotels and Resorts' has announced that one of its premier Lakeside resorts, Sunbird Livingstonia in Salima, will be unveiling newly renovated and upgraded rooms this December. The renovations which began earlier this year aim to modernize and improve guest experience at the hotel while also keeping in track with global trends in the hospitality industry.

According to Sunbird Hotels and Resorts Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Yusuf Olela, the new rooms will incorporate modern architecture and facilities, while taking advantage of the breath-taking views of Lake Malawi with an emphasis on improving guest experience. The renovations will also see Sunbird Livingstonia increasing its room inventory from 35 to 44 rooms, whilst adding a new room category of suites to the popular lakeside resort. All rooms will be fitted with modern amenities and facilities including hi speed WIFI, Digital Satellite Television, Workstations, Mini Bars and storage facilities for guests. The suites which are a completely new room category will include a living room area, a workstation and a veranda extension overlooking the breathtaking beach and lakeshore. The new room inventory will also include standard, chalet, superior, deluxe and family rooms. According to schedule, all renovation works are expected to be completed by the first week of December, ready for holiday-makers and other guests during the festive season period. Speaking on the new development, Yusuf Olela explains "Our focus on product improvement continues to be that of enhancing value and guest experience across the group. We believe that this increased room inventory and upscaled product at Sunbird Livingstonia will address the increased demand for rooms while offering the perfect combination of comfort and style. This is a continuation of repositioning our products that began with Sunbird Lilongwe room upgrade and will see other properties being upgraded with Sunbird Nkopola set to complete its upgrade by first quarter of 2019."
