SUNBIRD IN ZOMBA MOUNTAIN REFORRESTATION EFFORTS

Sunbird Tourism, Malawi’s Stock Exchange listed and largest hotel chain has adopted a section of Zomba mountain forest and planted 3,600 indigenous trees in order to ensure sustained reforestation and a well-managed environment, while supporting the efforts of the Government of Malawi through the Department of Forestry which is responsible for the management of the Zomba Mountain Forest Plantation.

Zomba mountain, home to the magnificent Sunbird Ku Chawe which sits on the rim of the 7000 feet Zomba plateau commanding one of the most compelling views in Malawi, is a rare Eco-Tourism treasure for Malawi, and such dedicated reforestation efforts ensure that the beauty and attraction of the Zomba Mountain Forest Plantation is maintained. The mountain forest offers access to an unparalleled high tropical micro-climate and a huge bio-diversity of birdlife.
