Sunbird Nkopola supports pupils at Koche primary school

Sunbird Hotels and Resorts through one of its hotel units Sunbird Nkopola has entered into an initiative to support pupils of Koche Primary School in Mangochi. In this initiative, Sunbird joins staff, parents and school administration in encouraging hardwork, excellence and competition at the school. The initiative is dubbed "The Number 1 Club" and represents a merited selection of top performers that Sunbird Nkopola will host for an experience at the resort.

"The Number 1 Club" is a CSR initiative that is geared to encourage and support pupils learning in primary schools to work hard in school. Through the program, the best pupils were celebrated at Sunbird Nkopola with a high profile lunch treat where they interacted with Sunbird staff, and went on an educational visit of the resort. The pupils were joined by their teachers.

"Education is the foundation for development and as a market leader in the hospitality Industry, we deemed it imperative to reach out to our community where we do business through Koche Primary School with the aim of encouraging and rewarding deserving students, so that they should continue with a spirit of excellence." said Temwa Kanjadza, Sunbird Group Sales and Marketing Manager.

"At the commencement of the next school term, we will present badges at the school to all the "Number 1 Club" pupils and liaise with the teachers to make sure these pupils proudly wear the prestige badge at the school. This will motivate them and encourage other pupils also to work hard and aim to be part of the club" added Kanjadza.
