CURIO
AND FISH FARM TOUR (two hours)
Accompanied by a guide from the
hotel, you have a chance of buying some of the most interesting
curios on the continent. These range from key holders to man
sized sculptures. Serious bargaining is encouraged! From the
handicraft stalls, move on to Malawi’s unique tropical fish farm.
The farm processes and exports fish to USA, Europe
and within Africa. It is renowned for its export of the many
different species of Malawi’s endemic and colorful cichlids,
the envy of aquarists worldwide. |

FISHING VILLAGE
TOUR AND
VIEW POINT (four hours)
Start off this walking tour in the early
morning, accompanied by our guide.
Visit one of the fish drying and net
preparation beach areas - set up in
a typically Malawian style. Talk to
fishermen and see for yourself an
ages-old, traditional lifestyle on. After
the tour, climb to enjoy a singular
viewpoint. High above the lake,
it provides stunning views - and
photographic opportunities - of the
whole Senga Bay area and beyond. |

FRESH
WATER SNORKELLING
(four hours)
The beautiful and remote Maleri Islands are a
45 minute boat ride away. Here the snorkeling
is unique for the water around the twin islands
is crystal clear. You can see even touch these
beautiful little fish. Depending entirely on the
time of your departure, you can opt to have a
picnic lunch provided by the hotel on the islands.
KUTI
COMMUNITY GAME RANCH (half and full day)
Northwest of Salima, and about 35km from the hotel,
is Malawi’s first wildlife breeding station, Kuti Community
Game Ranch. Already well-stocked with nyala (in its
northernmost habitat) there are also wildebeest, zebra,
kudu and ostrich. It is one of the few places in Malawi
where giraffe may be seen. Bird watching too is excellent
with a wide selection of indigenous species including large
numbers of waterfowl on the vast natural dam. Picnics are
available from the Hotel for full-day tours.
